About Hemp

Our hemp nappies are made from hemp/ certified organic cotton fabric.  Hemp is such a great choice for the environmentally conscious parent. Not only is using cloth in general so much better for the environment, but hemp in particular, is the supreme choice for cloth fabric that rests next to your baby's skin. Hemp fabric has antibacterial and antifungal properties, which inhibits the growth of mould or mildew whilst also helping to keep baby's skin rash free, making hemp the preferred fabric for babies with sensitive skin.

Hemp also requires no chemicals to grow. Should your nappy be a hemp/organic cotton blend (such as our Hemp Nappies!) none of the fibres of the fabric will have had exposure to herbicides, pesticides or fungicides. Hemp also requires less water to grow than cotton, so it is friendlier to our environment and less taxing on our Earth's natural resources.

Your hemp nappies will also last and last! Hemp is 10 times stronger than cotton, making it more durable, which is very important considering the constant washing, drying and wearing routine.

Not a fan of the bubble-butt look? Hemp is trim! Your baby will find the nappies comfortable and less movement restrictive than traditional terry cloth nappies. You see, hemp is far more absorbent than cotton, therefore the nappies require less layers, making them a trimmer option. Yes- your baby can wear those fashionable clothes without the big bum!

About Bamboo

Here is another supremely environmentally friendly fabric choice for your baby's nappy.  Our bamboo nappies are made from luscious Bamboo Fleece fabric.  Bamboo is relatively new to the cloth nappy world, but it is gaining huge popularity- for good reason!  Like hemp, it is naturally antimicrobial and antifungal whilst also offering superior absorbancy when compared to a cotton alternative.  It requires minimal water for growth, and with such a short cultivation cycle, the bamboo fibre is naturally renewable.  The fibres used to make our particular fabric have been grown on special bamboo farms- this means that no wild bamboo resources have been consumed.  As an added bonus you'll be pleased to know that absolutely no pesticides or fungicides/herbicides etc are required for growing bamboo....meaning this fabric we offer to you has had no contact with any nasty chemicals during growth.

Though bamboo will take longer to dry than cotton (because it is so much more absorbent), it retains its softness to offer the most comfy choice for your bub! A fabulous choice for an overnight nappy!
